Originally from California, Shannon received her Bachelor’s degrees from Sonoma State University in Psychology and American Multicultural Studies with Distinction, in addition to a Minor in Film Studies in 2016. Her research interests include dismantling the myth of the American Dream, and further understanding the impact of post-WWII film, media and advertising on the perpetuation of this myth through popular culture. Her current research is centered on baseball, as the realization of the white masculine standard of the Amercan Dream. Shannon is currently working towards her MA/PhD in American Studies at the University of Kansas.
