Biography

Ben Schmack is a lecturer in the American Studies department at the University of Kansas. Previously, he was a visiting assistant professor in American Studies at Kenyon College in Ohio from 2023 to 2024 and a Public History Postdoctoral Associate for the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research from 2022 to 2023. Before that he taught courses as a graduate student at the University of Kansas, where he earned his PhD in American Studies in 2022. Schmack’s research focuses on radical social movements emanating from the radical Left, as well as their repression, throughout the twentieth century in the United States.
