Brookelyn Lambright

Brookelyn Lambright received her BA in American Studies and Journalism with highest distinction from Indiana University-Bloomington. She is currently a PhD student and Graduate Teaching Assistant in American Studies with research interests at the intersection of prison abolition, critical studies of whiteness, and decolonial and abolitionist feminisms. Her research focuses broadly on the forms of resistance and organizing done by incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women, paying special attention to how their knowledges reconstruct notions of relationality and care beyond those defined by the US carceral system. As a first-generation student, Brookelyn is also interested in public humanities work that enables communities to engage directly with academic work. She publicly advocates for increased access to higher education and for the protection of arts and humanities programs across the country.
