Biography

Dr. Neill Gabrielle Esquibel-Kennedy is a Visiting Assistant Professor in American Studies at the University of Kansas. Her research interests include racial capitalism, settler colonialism, immigration, and the intersections of race, space, and place. Esquibel-Kennedy’s current project is focused on revising and evolving her dissertation, “Becoming Mexican Kansas: A Genealogy of Racial Capitalism and Community-Building,” into a monograph. She teaches a wide array of classes in American Studies but is particularly focused on the Latinx/Chicanx Studies program. She is from Topeka, Kansas, and received both her undergraduate and doctorate degrees in American Studies from the University of Kansas.
